90% of charitable funds for Ukraine are donated to large international nonprofits, and around 87% of that aid never make near the front lines where it is desperately needed. UFF is unique because we are small, agile, and headquartered in Kyiv. We don’t lose aid to international corruption, and we don’t rely on other organizations for delivery. The UFF accepts tax-exempt donations by ACH bank transfer, credit card, PayPal, Wire Transfer, Check, Donor-Advised Fund, PayPal Giving Fund, and Venmo. Learn more about our mission here.
We're based in Kyiv, we have extensive experience with Ukraine's defenders, and we're often at the front lines. We go where other charities cannot.
We know who to trust, who not to trust, and we build our humanitarian aid pipelines with integrity and less than 4% overhead costs.
Pick one of 4 campaigns or donate to our general fund and we’ll put your money where needed most. All donations are U.S. tax exempt.
We don’t leave aid with the government or other organizations. We deliver direct to those in need, shake their hands, and say "hang on, we’ll be back."
Dear UFF Friends and Supporters,
Our end-of-year review culminated two weeks ago in a meeting with all the training and education directors from the Ministry of Defense, independent services, operational commands and institutes: 23 senior officers giving feedback and submitting requests for 2026.
Dear UFF Friends and Supporters,
General David McKiernan, retired four-star U.S. Army General and member of the Ukrainian Freedom Fund Advisory Board, shared his perspective on Ukraine’s ongoing resistance against Russian aggression, the country’s military transformation, and the role of Western allies in ensuring victory.
In an exclusive interview with OBOZ.UA, General McKiernan — former Commander of the U.S. Third Army, U.S. Central Command (ARCENT), and Coalition Ground Forces during Operation Iraqi Freedom — discussed how Ukraine can overcome its most pressing challenges and what lessons from modern warfare apply today.
“This war is like David versus Goliath,” said McKiernan. “Ukraine has fewer resources, but through innovation and determination, it continues to hold off a much larger enemy.”
Dear UFF Friends and Supporters,
The Wall Street Journal recently published a sobering report: Ukraine’s army, once nimble and adaptive, is struggling under the weight of Soviet-style command traditions. Soldiers describe a culture where initiative is punished, decisions are centralized, and casualties mount because commanders hesitate to trust the judgment of those on the ground.
The UFF has been recognized as Platinum Level of Transparency from 2022 to 2025 by Candid, the world's most comprehensive nonprofit database. We are also endorsed by the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, the EU-Ukraine Business Council, the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council, the European Business Association, Ukraine Aid Centers, and many other esteemed organizations.
Allow Ukraine to see beyond the horizon for search and rescue, risk assessment, and damage survey.
The UFF will apply your funds to the most pressing campaigns and highly dynamic issues faced by Ukrainian defenders and citizens.
We are increasing the sustainable capacity of Ukraine by providing critical training and humanitarian services.
The UFF is acquiring SUVs, trucks, and vans for use as ambulances and for the transport of critical supplies and aid.
Our operations team has relationships with over 120 military units in need of basic.
We will not supply ammunition, weapons or other items prohibited by laws governing 501c3 non-profits. But these units request a lot of help with equipment and support to treat wounded, save lives through preparedness, technology, and training. We work with individual units to provide all this directly to the soldiers and Marines in need.
We do not work with middlemen or through other organizations: we only work directly with end-users. And we sign documents ensuring ownership of any equipment goes on to the unit’s legal balance and cannot be passed further. Moreover, we ask for photo and video reports demonstrating proper usage of materials.
Our own evacuation teams comprised of three vehicles and four trained men cooperate with community authorities in identifying needed aid for civilians in areas under Russian artillery and tactical drone range. We also pass contact business cards through local populous to spread word that we can evacuate those who seek to leave or bring food/water/humanitarian supplies directly to those in need.
With local organizations and governments, they provide an official request letter with a list of needed aid. When we provide them aid, we also sign the act of acceptance-transfer of the aid, make photo reports, and follow up with reports on aid usage anytime further.
Currently, we focus on 4 directions:
The UFF team is always in touch with community leaders in frontline and liberated territories to understand the situation and be able to help folks rebuild life as much as possible.
UFF staff operate our various efforts at an expense rate of 11% in 2023. In 2022, our expense rate was 4%. Unfortunately, declining donor interest in Ukraine puts greater expense burden on existing operations.
